This picture is of Chloe and me. She was the inspiration for Southern Belle Charm. I knew I wanted a blog, but could never figure out what it should be. Chatting with Chloe on the phone and she made a comment that she wanted me to teach her to be a Belle. After I quit laughing, I realized that was it! This blog started out to be ALL about being Southern, but like all things in life, it’s evolved. I’ve read every thing I could get my hands on, trying to figure out where this fits. What’s the niche?
It dawned on me today, this is about those of us that are struggling, figuring things out as we go. Our interests are diverse, we cover a gamut of life. Some of us are crafters, some aren’t. Some of us like to cook, some don’t. Some of us like to read, some don’t. There is no “niche” here. We’re not made to go into a mold or be anything but ourselves, “Warts and all” to quote of my grandmothers.
So this blog is about us. Most of us aren’t Moms to little ones. We’re grandmothers, wives, widowed, divorced, have a plan, don’t have a plan, we cover it all.
Where ever the road takes you enjoy the ride~

I have three beautiful children and an awesome husband. I currently live in North Carolina, but I have lived in lots of different places. My husband is a Dentist. I am a Homemaker. I love to curl up and read. I love to play games with my family. Does napping count as a hobby, if not it should. I love to decorate and I love to paint. Let’s see…what else…OH, and I love music!

“Auntie Gwen” presently lives in the frozen tundra of Massachusetts.
But … is a Southern Belle at heart. Can’t wait to get settled on a new farm in SW FL.
The grandmother of 10 lives with her Hubby, 6 horses, 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 chickens,
a Guinea Hen and “Noah” — the ring necked dove that coos sweet nothings at
back of her head constantly while perched in her office. Auntie grew up with a Mom who made her eat vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds. Just like what she feeds her own horses now! “If you’re hungry, eat an apple!” was frequently heard while
all Auntie’s friends had faces smeared with frosting from Hostess Cupcakes and Twinkies. But now, at retirement age, Auntie and her Hubby plus all the critters are “au naturale” and eat organics, use homeopathy, herbs and essential oils for healing and for keeping the ole immune systems in good working order.
This Auntie LOVES to share
her treasures with others just to help make their world a better and more comfortable place to live …
Auntie sends Blessings to All! xoxo
